...arrived in cloudy Turku at 17.00 today. Turku is a harbour of the Sigyn already, and a home of Suomen Joutsen, the Finnish Swan. The Aura river that cuts the city in tho parts - "this side and the other side" whatever side you are on - gives the city also the sailing touch. Turku was the capitol of the Eastern State of Sweden for 700 years when Finland and Sweden was the same nation until 1809 when Sweden lost Finland to Russia. They gave Finland autonomy but established a new capitol closer to St. Petersbourg, Helsinki. Turku and Gothenbourg have hade close ties always and there is a Turku -club in Gothenbourg and a Gothenbourg -club in Turku.
